SKIN LIFTING
(HIFU)

3D-HydrO2 Facial: Welcome
HIFU Face Lift Mill Hill

HIFU

HIFU- stands for ‘High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound’, this treatment can target various depths of the face and body’s tissue for skin tightening, skin lifting and body contouring. HIFU is also known as the “Lunchtime Face Lift” as the treatment is quick, very tolerable and has no downtime.

Entirely non-invasive,

HIFU  works by targeting deep layers in the skin – it boosts new collagen production and collagen regeneration right at the source. The technology is unique in its ability to penetrate the dermis and the superficial muscular aponeurotic system (SMAS) layer. No other technology can target these layers deep within the skin in a non-invasive procedure. SMAS is the same layer which is tightened during conventional facial surgery.

FAQ

Helpful Information

What is HUFU?

HIFU stands for High Intensity Focused Ultrasound. A safe, non-surgical ultrasound treatment that reserves the effects of ageing. It uses the body's own regenerative response to gently and gradually lift skin and smooth lines and wrinkles.

Is HIFU right for me?

HIFU may not be appropriate for everyone. In general, the procedure works best on people older than 30 with mild-to-moderate skin laxity. People with photodamaged skin or a high degree of loose skin may need several treatments before seeing results.

Older people with more extensive photo-aging, severe skin laxity, or very saggy skin on the neck aren’t good candidates and may need surgery.

HIFU isn’t recommended for people with infections and open skin lesions at the target area, severe or cystic acne, and metallic implants in the treatment area.

Can it replace a face lift?

It treats the deep foundational layer of the skin addressed in cosmetic surgery, but it cannot replace the results of a facelift. It represents a great alternative, however, especially for those not ready for surgery or to extend the effects of cosmetic surgery.

How does stimulate the creation of collagen?

HIFU deposits intense heat deep beneath the skin at the optimal temperature for collagen regeneration. The treatment triggers a natural process, known as neocollagenesis, to produce fresh, new collagen.

How does it work on the body?

High  Focused Ultrasound energy is delivered to higher depth, at fat layer to achieve body contouring. It can treat various parts of the body  including the abdomen, buttock, knees, upper arms and legs. During the procedure fat cells are damaged and then dispersed through the vascular and lymphatic drainage systems and disposed naturally by the body.

How long does a treatment take?

The length of the treatment will depend on the area being treated and your individual treatment plan. A face and neck procedure typically takes 60-90 minutes, while a chest treatment takes approximately 30 minutes.

Will I need to take time off?

With our HIFU machine, there is no downtime after the treatment. After the procedure, you can resume your normal activities, without having to follow any special post-treatment measures.

How does stimulate the creation of collagen?

HIFU deposits intense heat deep beneath the skin at the optimal temperature for collagen regeneration. The treatment triggers a natural process, known as neocollagenesis, to produce fresh, new collagen.

What does the treatment feel like?

You will feel heat energy being deposited to precise depth, indicating that the collagen-building process has been initiated. Comfort level vary from person to person, but the sensation only lasts while the energy is being delivered.

When will I see results? How long do they last?

After the treatment, you may see some initial effect, but the ultimate results will take place over 2-3 months, as your body naturally regenerates collagen.

Since the procedure stimulates your own collagen production, how long the results last depends on you. The treatment produces new collagen on the inside, but your natural ageing process will dictate how long that translates into visible results in the outside.

How many treatments will I need?

Most people only need one to three ultrasound treatments, with Radio Frequency procedures in between. However, based on the degree of skin laxity, the biological response to the treatment and the individual's collagen-building process, some patients benefit from additional treatments.  Because skin continues to age, future touch-up treatments help to fight the body's natural ageing process.

Are there any side effects?

The skin might appear flushed at first, but the redness should disappear within a few hours. Some patients experience slight swelling, tingling or tenderness to the touch, but these are temporary in nature. Other, less common post-procedural effects may include temporary bruising or numbness on small areas. Any other possible side effects will be reviewed with you during consultation.
